What Actors Ask Us Before Joining

What is the One Year Screen Acting Program?

A 40-week, part-time training program with structure breaks, designed to build strong on-camera technique while producing professional, cinematic showreel material.

When does the next intake start?

The next intake begins July, 2026.

What are the class times?

Classes run Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 6:30pm–9:30pm at our Ultimo studio.

What will I actually walk away with?

By the end of the program, you’ll have:
– 2 high-quality, cinematic showreel scenes
– A clear, repeatable on-camera process
– Work that’s ready to be seen by agents and casting

Is this just a showreel course?

No — the showreel is the outcome.
This program is focused on building real on-camera skill first, then capturing it at a professional level.

What level do I need to be at?

We accept both beginners and experienced actors — but not everyone is accepted.
You need to be ready to train consistently and take the work seriously.

How much does the program cost?

The program is structured across 4 term payments, making it manageable across the year.

You also have the option to pay upfront.

This is a premium, all-inclusive training and production program — covering everything from coaching through to final showreel delivery.

Full investment details are shared after application, once we confirm it’s the right fit.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes — if you prefer - payments can be split across 4 terms, so you’re not paying everything upfront.

What’s included in the price?

Everything you need:
– Weekly training and coaching
– Scene development and scripts
– Professional filming and direction
– Editing, colour, and final delivery

No hidden costs.

How do I secure my place?

Once accepted, your place is secured with your first term payment.
We don’t hold spots without payment.

Is there an audition?

Yes — after applying, you’ll be sent a short scene to tape.
This ensures the program is the right fit and keeps the standard high.

How many spots are available?

Very limited.
We keep numbers tight so every actor gets real time on camera and detailed direction.

How easy is it to get to the studio?

Very easy.

– Free street parking after 6pm
– Broadway Shopping Centre parking just 150m away
– 12-minute walk from Central Station

What happens after I apply?

Once you submit your application, we’ll take a quick look to make sure the program is the right fit.

If it is, you’ll be sent a short scene to tape — this helps us understand where you’re at and ensure the group stays at a strong level.

From there, we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions before confirming your place.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

Inconsistent Work

Some scenes click…
Most don’t — and you don’t know why.

You’re Stuck In Your Head

You either overthink everything —
or don’t know where to start.

You Want A Process You Can Trust

A clear way into every scene —
even if you’re just starting out.

You Want Footage That Actually Represents You

Your showreel doesn’t reflect what you can actually do —
or you don’t have one at all.

You’ve Trained… Or Haven’t Started Yet

Either way — you’re not where you want to be.

You’re Ready To Take This Seriously

You don’t just want to “try acting” —
you want to do it properly.

How We Build Performances That Work On Camera

Train The Work

We build a clear, reliable process you can rely on — so you’re not guessing your way through scenes.

You’ll work on-camera every week, developing presence, connection, and truthful performance under direction.

Apply It Under Pressure

Once the foundation is there, we push the work further — through scene study, real-time direction, and adjustments that actually hold on camera.

This is where consistency starts to show up.

Film Work That Holds Up

When the work is ready, we film it —
with professional direction, lighting, and real locations. So what ends up on your showreel reflects the level you’re actually capable of.

ABOUT THE STUDIO

WHY WE EXIST

The Actors Workout was built because too many actors — whether starting out or already training — weren’t seeing their work translate on camera. Performances felt controlled. Showreels looked like student work. And talented actors were getting overlooked because what they were putting on screen didn’t hold up. We created a space where actors can build a process that actually works on camera — grounded, responsive, and truthful — while producing cinematic footage that represents them at a professional level. Whether you’re just starting out or have trained before, the goal is the same — to build work that holds up on screen.

Train with Matt Levett and a team of working actors and industry professionals — bringing real on-set experience into every session.
